University of Oregon: 79 faculty are out for next year

University of Oregon: 79 faculty are out for next year: Seventy nine University of Oregon faculty who are not protected by tenure lost their jobs for the coming school year. The “contract nonrenewals” issued Monday are part of Pres. Michael Schill’s plan to redeploy cash to the university’s newly sharpened priorities — such as hiring 100 tenure track faculty over the next five years and making it easier for students to graduate on time.
