Gov. Kate Brown decides to skip first possible debate with GOP opponent Bud Pierce: Gov. Kate Brown has chosen to skip her first possible chance to publicly debate Bud Pierce, her Republican opponent in the November gubernatorial election. Brown has decided against participating in a July debate organized by the Oregon Newspaper Publishers Assocation in Silverton at its annual conference.
