It’s a marathon task to be homeless
It’s a marathon task to be homeless: Regarding Mike Fitch’s April 15 letter bemoaning the sight of homeless people interfering with the Eugene Marathon runners’ enjoyment of their event (“Do a homeless sweep for marathon,” April 15): Homeless people face a marathon task of surviving day to day without despair. Perhaps athletes who have the health, time, resources and will to train and participate in an event with Eugene’s name on it could use those positive endorphins produced by running and help these homeless people with courtesy, kindness or even a portion of their entry fee to help feed those in need for one day.
