City needs a performance auditor: The recent furor over City Manager Jon Ruiz’s evaluation proves why Eugene needs an independent city performance auditor. There have been a number of controversies, such as the City Hall debacle, the South Willamette Rezoning, etc., that have eroded the confidence of our citizens in their city government. Ruiz’s recent evaluation seems to have caused this mistrust to erupt again, with some blaming Ruiz for mismanagement, and a few other people blaming the Eugene City Council.
