Book Release: Palestinians - The Invisible Victims

"Last week the Israeli Knesset passed legislation declaring Israel, the "Nation-State of the Jewish People." There are sections of the bill that discriminate against Palestinian citizens who are 20% of Israel's population and others that legitimize the annexation of West Bank land.

While some have protested this legislation, calling it "apartheid-like," we know that in reality Israel has been pursuing similar policies for 70 years. The only difference is that now these policies have been enshrined in the "Basic Law" of the country.

Israeli violations of Palestinian rights have long been a concern of our work. This weekend, I wrote my column on this new law and how it fits the pattern of Israel's history of discriminatory policies against Palestinians. In my column I refer to a book I wrote more than 40 years ago, "Palestinians, the Invisible Victims: Political Zionism and the Roots of Palestinian Dispossession."

In addition to distributing this book (in partnership with Mondoweiss), we have a full program, working with allies to educate the public about the history of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and its impact on Palestinian human rights.
