[MEDIA ADVISORY: CAIR Oklahoma's chapter will hold a news conference with the victim of the alleged anti-Muslim attack, Jenan Ayesh, at its office in Oklahoma City on Friday, Jan. 3 at 12:30 p.m. (3000 United Founders Blvd., Suite 226, Oklahoma City, OK 73112) CONTACT: Adam Soltani, CAIR-OK Executive Director, 405-248-5853, aSoltani@cair.com; Veronica Laizure, CAIR-OK Civil Rights Director, 405-430-9877, vLaizure@cair.com ]

"We urge state and federal law enforcement authorities to treat this attack as a hate crime and to bring appropriate charges against the alleged perpetrator," said Ekram Haque, CAIR-DFW acting executive director. “Nobody should be attacked for the way they dress or worship.”

The Washington-based Muslim civil rights organization has noted an unprecedented spike in bigotry targeting American Muslims and members of other minority groups since the election of Donald Trump as president.
