CAIR-SFBA and SBIA to Host Candidate Forum for San Jose District 4, Santa Clara District 3
(SANTA CLARA, CA - 2/22/2020) - This evening, the San Francisco Bay Area office of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-SFBA) and the South Bay Islamic Association (SBIA) will host a Candidate Forum. Candidates for County and City Council seats will speak about their platforms and answer questions from members of the American Muslim community.
WHAT: Candidate Forum featuring candidates from San Jose City Council District 4 and Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors District 3
WHEN: Saturday, February 22 at 4:30pm

CAIR-SFBA is organizing these events to increase civic engagement in the American Muslim community. The forums aim to better connect elected officials and candidates to their American Muslim constituents.
"It is especially critical this year to get out the vote given what's at stake," said CAIR-SFBA Government Relations Coordinator Sameena Usman. "These candidate forums around the Bay Area will provide an opportunity for constituents to ask questions and meet with the candidates who will serve their community."
CAIR-SFBA is an office of CAIR, America's largest Muslim civil liberties and advocacy organization. Its mission is to protect civil rights, enhance understanding of Islam, promote justice, and empower American Muslims.
