Oregon faces $1.2 billion hole in its healthcare budget, initial funding request shows: The Oregon Health Authority will seek an eye-popping 56 percent increase in its funding from the state next year, as part of Oregon’s bill comes due for the Affordable Care Act’s Medicaid expansion. The health authority wants $3.33 billion from the state’s 2017-19 general fund, up from its $2.14 billion allocation in the current 2015-17 biennium, according to the agency’s initial funding request. The health authority administers most of Oregon’s government-funded health programs.
